Tell Your Friends to Vote

TellYourFriendstoVote.org is a project the Patriot Group's online division launched for Texans for Rick Perry. On the site, one person sends another person an e-mail message embedded within a graphic. We launched in a few days before early voting. With very little promotion, the site had 47,290 users in the 10 days for Early Voting and the 5 days leading up to the primary election day. This kind of 'viral' friend-to-friend tool delivers messages and actions via a grassroots network.

The tool uses Flash and scripting to make the messaging work and deliver a custom message to each recipient.

Intentionally, we kept the steps short and the complexity low so that users could make and send a message in less than a minute.

Here are the steps:

Step 1: Choose one of the three images for your message.

Step 2: Fill in the fields so your friends know you're sending this. Type your message and watch it appear in your image.

Step 3: Fill in your friend's name and e-mail address with a message for the e-mail.

Step 4: Preview your message. Click on Step 1 tab to start over or click on another tab to go back.

Again, TellYourFriendstoVote.org is a viral project intended to get people to send messages to each other and spread a message that spurs action. The online division is working on several projects this fall for the general election.
